The house
"I 99 olivi"("The 99 olive trees") is a beautiful old house situated amongst a grove of olive trees. It is located less than 2km from the beach in Imperia (Italy) in the heart of the Riviera dei fiori. The house has been converted into 3 attractive holiday apartments all of which are available to rent on a weekly basis. The apartments were fully refurbished in October 2006 and all are equipped with washing and dishwashing machines, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, satellite TV and radio, etc. A secure parking place is available for the use of guests.

The apartments
The apartments are named after the three women that owned the cottage and lived there during the nineteenth century, carrying on the olive and olive oil trade: Battistina (Battina) and her two daughters Elisa (Litta) and Elvira.

"Litta" apartment
"Litta" is perfect for a couple or a couple with a baby. It is located on the ground floor of the cottage and consists of a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. It is equipped with a double bed, a cot can be provided on request. The guests can also enjoy the benefit of a lovely patio in the private garden.

"Battina" apartment
"Battina" with its characteristic vaulted ceiling is in the oldest part of the cottage. It is suitable for three adults or a couple with a baby and a child. It is located on the ground floor and consists of a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. It is equipped with a double bed plus a sofa bed with two single beds. A cot will be provided on request. The guests may also enjoy the benefit of a lovely patio in the private garden.

"Elvira" apartment
"Elvira" is located on the first floor. It is the largest flat in the cottage and consists of two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds), a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen. The spacious living room has large windows with impressive views of Oneglia, Porto Maurizio and the sea
Where we are
Province of Imperia
Situated on the north-western coast of Italy, in Liguria, the the province of Imperia stretches for about 50 kms, like a narrow ribbon between the Alps and the sea. Imperia is: sunshine, olive and citrus trees, mediterranean scrub, beautiful sand and rocky beaches, crystal water. The climate which is mild for most of the year is typical of this area being sheltered by the Alps from the northern winds.

The Montolivo's property
The holiday cottage "I 99 olivi" is located in the Montolivo's property, in Imperia Oneglia, on a hill, "Le Cascine", overlooking the town. The ancient village called "Borgo delle Cascine" was once a rural area and is now one of the most exclusive residential areas in Imperia. Within easy walking distance, you can visit the gorgeous Park of Villa Grock, named after the famous Swiss clown. From "I 99 Olivi", amid orange and centuries-old olive trees, you can also enjoy the marvellous view of the bay of Imperia and the "Alpi Marittime", the most western part of the Alps.

How to reach us
By plane
Fly to Nice (France) or to Genoa (Italy) airports, both about 90 Km far from Imperia, and then rent a car or travel by train.

By car
Take the Imperia Est exit off the A10 motorway. If your car is equipped with a satellite navigation system, set the destination to "Via Fanny Roncati Carli n. 130" (the house is at numbers 131, 133 and 135 but this numbers are not referenced on most maps). Warning! Most satellite navigation systems suggest you take a route (from the motorway exit to "I 99 olivi") via very narrow and steep roads. At the motorway exit, we advise you ignore the suggestion and turn left on Via Garessio. Drive straight on for about 1 Km until a new route is suggested. This is the best route to "I 99 Olivi"!
By train
Imperia has two railway stations: Imperia Oneglia and Imperia Porto Maurizio. Most trains travelling from Genoa to Ventimiglia stop in Imperia Porto Maurizio, that is about 4 Kms from the house. From the station take a taxi or rent a car (arrange for car rental in advance,there is no car rental office at the station). A bus operates 4 times daily from Imperia Oneglia to the cottage.

For years we have been staying at the Elvira apartment. We are still very satisfied. The apartment is very well equipped. Both from the apartment and from the large lawn adjacent to a beautiful olive grove, you have a very nice view of Imperia, the ports, and the sea. In the area of the lawn, there are extensive furnishings and lovingly planted vegetation. You can relax wonderfully and enjoy peacefully the beautiful colors, the unique nature, simply everything that Liguria represents. Especially noteworthy is the kindness of the owner, Mrs. Montolivo. She is always available, always helpful and friendly. Mrs. Montolivo also provides valuable tips on events such as concerts, musical performances, and celebrations, visits to interesting buildings, caves, and much more. We rested very well and felt comfortable.

We stayed in the Litta apartment. The apartment is very practical. The outdoor area is completely protected. Unfortunately, the view was not particularly good. We had a nice holiday and felt very comfortable.

We stayed twice in the summer at the Bianca apartment. It is ideal for a family with children, being the only apartment in a house and having a small exclusive garden. The landlady is extremely kind and accommodating. We felt very comfortable every time. Absolutely recommended!

Litta Apartment, very nice, tastefully furnished and equipped with unusual appliances such as dishwasher and washing machine. The small garden is cute, very green and with a nice space for eating outside... something we did all week because actually the spaces inside are quite small and lack support surfaces but also simple hooks to hang tea towels. Even in the bedroom you feel a bit the lack of a chest of drawers, but obviously these are considerations that apply to long stays, for a few days you manage. The location is strategic: above Villa Grock and a few minutes from the center of Oneglia, on the edge of a slightly busy road during the day but absolutely quiet at night. If the garden were not protected by a reed net, you could see the sea, which is however enjoyable from the garden available a few meters above. Very friendly Mrs. Francesca and very prompt in meeting our requests: given the intense heat that made sleep difficult for us, she immediately provided us with a fan that solved the problem. Recommended!

The view is spectacular like the garden in the olive grove, the house is perfectly equipped, the friendliness and flexibility of the owner. Just a bit narrow and quite busy is the road that separates the various accommodations from the parking lot.

Enough Hotel. With a bit of initiative and the help of the internet, always considering your own needs, you can find those who, like you, love simplicity and the 'silence,' the good one, that of the sea air, but on a hill. The farmhouses, four, are immersed in greenery and discreetly overlook the Ligurian Sea. The structure is certainly interesting for those who want to spend a few days between the Ligurian sea and hinterland, on vacation. Francesco.

We stayed at the Battina house, me, my wife and our 2 Golden Retrievers. Francesca, the owner, is a very helpful person. The house is extremely clean, fully equipped and even has a dishwasher. A small private garden with table, chairs and sun loungers. The parking space is a few tens of meters away, closed with a gate. Above the apartments, climbing a few steps, there is a shared garden with lawn and olive trees, from which you can enjoy a stunning view of the city and the sea. We will be back soon.

Great structure. Five minutes by car from the sea. Very kind and helpful owner. Small oasis of tranquility with private garden and parking in complete safety with automatic gate.\n\nWe can't wait to go back.
