The location is great - 5 minutes from the bridge, and like everywhere in Ortigia, it is close to everything. Our hostess was easily reachable and responded quickly. The TV in the bedroom did not work. The TV in the living room was hard to figure out but it worked. The bedroom smelled of smoke when we arrived, maybe because of smokers in the area right outside the bedroom window. Halfway through our stay we asked for new towels and they were delivered the same day, but the wet ones were not removed, so we had a pile of wet/stinking towels for 2 days. This is beyond the host's control, but a cat that lives in the shared space behind the bedroom is extremely loud and yowls all night. I have never heard a cat that loud before. It kept us awake, but as I said it's not the host's cat. \nNotes for visitors to Ortigia/Siracusa from the US (not new to us, but might be to you): you cannot drink the tap water so you must buy bottled water. You cannot put anything down the toilet that doesn't come out of your body (no toilet paper!) so put TP into the garbage can and learn to use the bidet.

Much difference between the description and the photos and the reality of the room is humid. I can't understand why cleaning fees have to be paid separately and in cash.

Excellent location and welcoming structure of La Corte di Aretusa, located in an alley of the historic center of Ortigia easily accessible from every part of the island. We really felt good in the little house that we immediately felt like “ours” from the first moment of our arrival. We will always keep a nice memory. Also to highlight the attractive price, the availability and kindness of the owner Barbara.

This family home turned out to be a real gem! Furnished with taste and elegance, beautiful even in the smallest details, large and really comfortable bathroom, it is located in the center of Ortigia and therefore you can reach everything quickly. Moreover, it is worth mentioning the kindness and availability of Mrs. Barbara who accompanied us to the location upon our arrival, found us parking, immediately suggested how to move around Ortigia, and has always been in touch with us when we asked for some advice. There is everything you need to cook, two TVs, air conditioning, despite the house being quite cool, excellent internet connection. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

On the 1st and 2nd of July, we were guests at La Corte di Aretusa holiday home. The owner, Mrs. Barbara, is the strength of the property. Her natural friendliness immediately puts you at ease. The apartment, just a few steps from the center, is very nice, clean, and equipped with all comforts. Highly recommended. We hope to be able to return.
